4/20/2022 (Permalink)

Students tested their skills in timed competitions and got the chance to network with sponsors. SERVPRO was happy to serve as a sponsor of this year's Construction Rodeo in Burke County

The 2022 Construction Rodeo was a success, held by Western Piedmont Community College!

The students, along with students from Caldwell, McDowell and Catawba county schools, competed in several different tasks including blueprint reading, hammering, measuring, drilling, driving heavy equipment simulator and much more!

During this excited event, students tested their skills in timed competitions and got the chance to network with sponsors.

Students also had the chance to meet and connect with local employers.  Different companies sponsoring the event came to speak to student about their services and what type of skills their employees need.

SERVPRO was happy to serve as a sponsor of this year's Construction Rodeo in Burke County.  Check out the video below to see more about the event!

Business After Hours hot dog eating competition

7/25/2013 (Permalink)

We recently held our first annual hot dog eating competition at the Caldwell County Chamber Business After Hours Event. We had 14 people sign up to see who would get bragging rights for eating the most hot dogs in 5 minutes, and our very own Jessie Johnson was the winner. Jessie ate a total of 7 hot dogs, but the competition was fierce! We had folks who had never entered a competition before to seasoned veterans, which made the event all the more fun to watch! We had an esteemed panel of judges including the Lenoir Mayor, Lenoir Fire Chief, Chamber Director, and Granite Insurance Agents, among others.

Jessie won the prize money, and front page photo in the News Topic, and all competitors walked away with a SERVPRO t-shirt that has the SERVPRO Hero's, Stormy and Blaze, holding hot dogs.

We are looking forward to next years competition, and appreciate all the support we received from the community.
